Entlang der Weser – Sichbare Folgen der Weservertiefung
Pollution, oversalting, and higher flood risk... These are the consequences of deepening the Weser River. The Weser has been repeatedly deepened so that even larger ships can deliver soy imports and palm oil to the port of Brake with heavy loads. This has far-reaching consequences for animals, plants, and people! We will cycle together along the Weser from Bremen to Brake and discover the visible consequences of the deepening of the Weser. Once we arrive in Brake, after a quick snack, we will take a harbor tour of the port of Brake with its huge port facilities, organized by BUND Wesermarsch (see below for more information).
Schedule:
- 9 a.m. Start at the camp (meeting point: InfoPoint)
- 2 p.m. Estimated arrival at Brake Harbor. Light lunch on site.
Some of the bikes will be transported back to the camp by van. - 14.30 bis 16.30 Uhr Hafenrundfahrt im Braker Hafen mit dem BUND Wesermarsch (siehe unten)
- 16.30 Uhr Rückfahrt mit ÖPNV nach Bremen. Ankunft gegen 18 Uhr.
optional: You can skip the harbor tour and cycle back on your own.
Packing list: Bicycle, bicycle helmet, weather-appropriate clothing, rain jacket, enough food and drink (you will have the opportunity to make lunch packages at the camp)
